This is my personal site. I'm Owen Fisher, and I'm responsible for anything it does with your data. For any question about it, email hello@owenfisher.co.

The chat

When you ask the chat something, your question and the conversation so far are sent to Groq, an AI company, so it can write the answer. The answer is written by AI from notes I wrote about myself. It is not me typing, and it can get things wrong.

I don't store your conversation. Groq processes it to answer you; its own privacy policy covers how it handles requests. Your IP address is held briefly in memory to stop the chat being overused, and is then forgotten.

Your browser

The site remembers two small things in your own browser: whether you chose light or dark, and that you've already seen the opening. They never leave your device. There are no cookies, no analytics and no tracking.

Other services the site uses

• Vercel hosts the site, so your visit passes through its servers.
• Google Fonts serves the typeface, so your browser asks Google for it.
• Groq answers the chat, as above.

These companies are in the United States and use recognised safeguards for data sent from the UK.

The previous version of this site

The site before this one stored chat conversations and contact form messages. Those are kept for no more than 12 months from when they were made, then deleted. If you'd like yours deleted sooner, email me and I'll do it.

Your rights

Under UK data protection law you can ask to see, correct or delete any data I hold about you, or object to how it's used. Email me and I'll reply within 30 days. If you're unhappy with how I've handled it, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.

Children

The site isn't meant for children under 13, and I don't knowingly collect anything from them.
